The 4th Turkish Restaurant & Takeaway Awards (TURTA) has officially unveiled its 2026 Semi-Finalists, marking a key milestone in celebrating the success, resilience, and growing influence of Turkish cuisine across the United Kingdom.

Now in its fourth year, TURTA has established itself as a leading platform recognising the achievements of Turkish-owned and Turkish-inspired food businesses, highlighting their vital contribution to the UK’s hospitality sector, local economies, and community life.

This year’s semi-finalists have been selected following a nationwide nomination process, reflecting strong public engagement and the deep connection between these businesses and the communities they serve.

Turkish restaurants and takeaways have become a cornerstone of the UK’s hospitality landscape. From busy city centres to local high streets, they offer accessible, high-quality dining that appeals to a broad and diverse audience.

Beyond their culinary appeal, these businesses make a significant contribution to the UK economy. They create jobs, support supply chains, and sustain independent entrepreneurship. Many are family-run enterprises built over generations, reflecting long-term commitment, resilience, and dedication to their communities.

Their presence helps maintain vibrant high streets, encouraging footfall, supporting neighbouring businesses, and contributing to the wider ecosystem of small and medium-sized enterprises across the country.

Turkish hospitality is rooted in values of generosity, sharing, and bringing people together. Across the UK, Turkish restaurants and takeaways are not only places to dine but important social spaces where communities connect.

They play a meaningful role in fostering cultural exchange, introducing authentic flavours while creating welcoming environments for people from all backgrounds. In doing so, they contribute to unity, inclusivity, and a stronger sense of community.

The awards now enter the public voting phase, giving customers and supporters the opportunity to support their favourite establishments and help determine who progresses to the final stage.

The winners will be announced at the TURTA Gala Lunch on 21 June 2026 at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House, London.

The event will bring together leaders from the hospitality sector, policymakers, and community representatives to celebrate excellence and recognise the businesses shaping the future of Turkish cuisine in the UK.

Public voting is now open, inviting everyone to support their local favourites and celebrate the businesses that bring communities together.
