İHKİB Vice President Mustafa Paşahan: "Our fashion industry plays a strategic role in our national economy with its value-added production, contribution to employment, and exports. For years, we have consistently ranked among the top three exporting sectors. We are the 6th largest supplier globally and the 3rd largest to the European Union. Today, we are a branding country in production, with a robust infrastructure and extensive expertise. Every year, we make significant advancements in design and branding. Our brands represent the sector in over 2,000 stores across more than 100 countries. Some of our brands are even market leaders in the countries they operate in. With this confidence, we are working towards building a more innovative, creative, and globally competitive fashion industry.
At this point, IFCO acts as a driving force for achieving our industry’s goals. We take pride in having created a brand like IFCO. Now in its 7th edition, IFCO has become Europe’s largest Appareland Fashion Fair. It was included in the international trade fair calendar and received 50% government support during its inaugural edition—remarkable achievements for both our sector and our country.
Through the power of the fair, participating companies have the chance to promote their brands to tens of thousands of domestic and international visitors. Franchise brands establish new partnerships, and exporting companies create new business connections. As a result, all our participants leave the fair with positive outcomes each season.
As we host tens of thousands of international visitors every season, both IFCO and our country benefit. Our participants and visitors now believe in the strength of the fair more than ever. At the last IFCO, we broke a record by welcoming 38,545 visitors, nearly half of them international, from 159 countries—a significant milestone."
