Holloway athlete completes gruelling strength test featuring 300kg farmer’s walks and 220kg squats
A strongman from Holloway has set a new world record after completing an extraordinary 90-day endurance challenge involving carrying and lifting weights comparable to a Bengal tiger.

Mehmet Musa, 32, successfully completed the challenge at Energy Fitness Highbury over a three-month period, marking a significant milestone in his strength sports career. The feat consisted of performing a 300kg farmer’s walk for 60 consecutive days, followed by an additional 30 days of 220kg squats.
Reflecting on the challenge, Musa said: “I set out to complete 60 consecutive days of the farmer’s walk, but towards the end it began to feel like a warm-up each day. I wanted to test my capabilities. I have always wanted to go further and do more.”
Having taken up strength sports six years ago, Musa has now decided to take a career break to fully focus on preparing for professional strongman competitions.

Speaking about his journey into the sport, he added: “My dad says it’s time for me to compete. I’ve always been strong, even as a child. I started boxing at 15 — my father was a professional boxer. Like many young people, I went to the gym, but I quickly fell in love with strength sports. I never seemed to get tired like the others. When I was around 15 or 16, while my friends were going home to play video games, my room was filled with weights and a punch bag.”
As part of his ongoing training for elite competitions, Musa continues to push his physical limits, including running with a 150kg sandbag, which he keeps in his living room.
“My dad joked that wherever you put it, you have to leave it there, because no one else is going to pick it up except you,” he said.
