With just two months to go until race day, anticipation is building as 20,000 runners prepare to lace up and take to the streets of the capital for the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday 12 April 2026. One of the city’s most heartwarming and visually spectacular running events. London will come alive as runners, supporters and charities unite for an extraordinary day of running, fundraising and community spirit.
Lia Fyles, London Landmarks Half Marathon Race Director, says; “Every year the London Landmarks Half Marathon reminds us of the power of running to bring people together. With just two months to go, the excitement is really building – not just for the runners, but for everyone who comes out to line the streets and support them. It’s a truly special day in the capital.”
A running sightseeing tour of London
The ninth edition of the London Landmarks Half Marathon (LLHM) will once again see runners weave their way through the heart of London on a unique 13.1 mile route passing 16 of the best-known landmarks in the capital.
Every mile showcases the very best of London, from the historic and iconic to the quirky, hidden and unexpected. Starting near Downing Street, the course passes Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament before heading along the Thames Embankment towards the City, taking in the Tower of London, the Gherkin and Guildhall Yard to name a few landmarks, before finishing in Trafalgar Square beneath the watchful gaze of Nelson’s Column.
A multi-million pound fundraiser
The event is organised by pregnancy and baby charity Tommy’s and is 100% not-for-profit to benefit both Tommy’s and the wider charity sector. With more than 750 charity partners involved in this year’s event, runners are predicted to fundraise a staggering £18 million for good causes across London and the UK.
Having raised over £70 million for charity since its launch in 2018, the London Landmarks Half is one of the UK’s most impactful fundraising events.
Running unites
Running has the power to unite people, and the London Landmarks Half is a real showcase of just how much;
- The event includes a special ‘Pink’ Tommy’s Wave, where a sea of pink will flow over the start line as participants unite in a special moment in support for those who have endured the heartbreak and devastation of baby loss.
- Wheelchair participants, both unassisted and assisted, set off first ahead of the masses on race day, closely followed our visually impaired (VI) runners and their guides including runners from Achilles International, who empower people with disabilities to participate in mainstream athletic events
A whole host of London based community groups and run clubs will be represented including, Black Girls Do Run, Sikhs in the City and the London Front Runners – a volunteer-run running club for the LGBT+ community and its allies, who promote inclusion for all abilities.
Every step taken for a very personal reason
Whether it’s to give back, in memory of a loved one, to celebrate a milestone or overcoming a personal challenge, the majority of the 20,000 individuals taking part will running for deeply personal reasons such as;
Laura Swanton (42, from Essex) – who is running because she knows the deepest pain of pregnancy loss. Before welcoming her two beautiful children, she endured nine devastating losses, an experience that reshaped her life. Her motivation is also powered by the grief of her close friend, who suffered a tragic stillbirth of her baby boy, Henry. These experiences fuel her determination to take part to raise awareness, and support others facing similar heartbreak.
Sarah-Jane Price (39, from South East London) – will take on the LLHM following an intense and deeply personal battle with cancer. Diagnosed in 2022, she spent much of 2023 undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy and major surgery. Her journey was made even heavier by the loss of three friends, women she met during treatment, who died from breast cancer last year.
Lloyd Martin (20, from Surrey) – an incredible runner with Down’s syndrome who continues to break barriers and challenge expectations. From the moment he found his passion for running at just 13, Lloyd has shown unstoppable determination, using every race as a chance to prove that ability matters far more than labels.
Sumaria AKA ‘Sam’ (49, from Surrey) – will be taking on the LLHM alongside her husband Joe, who will act as her guide runner. Living with Retinitis Pigmentosa caused by the RDH12 gene, Sam is registered blind. She is taking on this challenge to raise vital funds for research and treatment, determined that young people living with RDH12-related sight loss won’t have to face blindness before they’ve even had the chance to grow up.
Zoe Fordham (23, from London) – Zoe discovered that running offered the clarity, grounding and calm she desperately needed in a world that suddenly felt overwhelming when she was diagnosed with late autism at 17 years old. She says running became her ‘anchor’, giving her stability, space to breathe, and helped her rebuild her confidence.
Yimei Wang (26, from East London) – an inspirational participant who started running when she moved to London but found it lonely on her own. Yimei founded the Asian Run Club in London to create a welcoming, culturally connected running community that she couldn’t find herself when she moved to the capital.
A party from start to finish
Along the way, runners, and spectators, will be treated to a festival-like atmosphere created by live performances, themed activations and thousands of volunteers bringing London’s streets to life.
Expect an unforgettable day with delights including the Bowler Hat Send-Off, Roman Reception at Guildhall Yard, It’s Showtime choir celebrating the West End, Notting Hill Carnival dancers, Pride Party, and a Right Royal Finish where runners are garlanded with medals by historic costume characters, the Pearly Kings and Queens and the iconic Chelsea Pensioners.

About LLHM
The London Landmarks Half Marathon is a 100% not-for-profit event organised by baby charity Tommy’s, which since launch has raised over £70 million for many good causes. Tommy’s spent two and a half years developing the event to benefit the entire charity sector. With their offices based in the heart of the City, Tommy’s noticed a gap in the market, realising a central London half marathon taking in the City and all of the Capital’s landmarks did not exist. Tommy’s therefore took the decision to organise the London Landmarks Half Marathon to benefit both themselves, and many other charities too. For more information about the event, visit www.llhm.co.uk
About Tommy’s
Tommy’s are a charity that exists to stop the heartbreak and devastation of baby loss and make pregnancy and birth safe – for everyone. To do this, Tommy’s works across the whole pregnancy journey to drive change at every level – translating their research breakthroughs into new tests and treatments in clinical care, changing national maternity policy and providing expert information and support for anyone who needs it. Together, with the strength of the Tommy’s community, Tommy’s are saving babies’ lives. www.tommys.org Charity reg. nos 1060508 and SC039280
