Name your new playground and skate park at Meridian Water
A new playground and skate park is opening at Meridian Water, and Enfield Council is asking for your help to name the park. The park has been designed to be accessible and suitable for all ages with a range of activity spaces including a skate bowl, suspension bridge and bouncing mats. You can get involved by submitting your name suggestions online or at one of the drop-off locations. We want to hear from everyone of all ages and backgrounds and in particular the people of Edmonton who will benefit from this new exciting leisure space.
New residents making Meridian Water their home
More than 200 homes have been delivered by The Council and its partners at Meridian Water. The Council’s Leader, Cllr Ergin Erbil, recently met new residents of Pipistrelle House, a 41 affordable housing block in Meridian One which opened last summer. The first phase of Meridian One is set to finish this year completing 301 homes. Meridian One is ideally located a few minutes walk away from the Meridian Water train station. Residents also have a community garden, a new playground and the Lee Valley Regional Park on their doorsteps.
Local people benefit from apprenticeships at Meridian Water
Eight apprentices from Enfield have gained first-hand construction experience through the unique opportunity of working on the multi-million pound infrastructure at Meridian Water. They have been involved in delivering new bridges, parks, roads and are helping the local Edmonton community through several social value projects. Recently, Engineering Technician Apprentice, Joe Wheeler won two awards at the New Civil Engineer (NCE) Graduate and Apprentice Awards 2024. First anniversary at ECSA celebrates over 700 learners
The Enfield Construction Skills Academy (ECSA) has recently celebrated its first anniversary with over 700 learners attending the academy, completing courses and gaining practical experience. The skills academy operates an extensive range of courses training local people with much-needed construction skills as well as other fundamentals such as English and Maths. The Leader of Enfield Council, Cllr Ergin Erbil, led the celebration meeting learners and teachers at the ECSA who described their positive experience of the academy including its great teachers and course facilities. The ECSA, in Meridian Water, has excellent transport links, providing easy access to vital skills courses.
