Enfield Council – Your May 2024 Information for Local Businesses Newsletter
Food and beverage opportunities in Enfield
Enfield Council has numerous opportunities for local businesses and one of our priorities is to support an economy that works for everyone. The numerous food and beverage opportunities for businesses are now listed on our website and include the chance to lease the cafes in some of our parks and set up food and beverage pop-ups and mobile concessions this summer. If you are interested, check out the new web page where you’ll also be able to sign up to receive notifications of upcoming business opportunities in the borough.
Could your business feature in the Bring It Enfield campaign?
We have an opportunity that will allow your business to gain exposure while helping to protect the environment. UK households throw out a staggering 100 billion pieces of plastic packaging every year. To tackle this, the North London Waste Authority is launching a campaign called ‘Bring It’ to encourage customers to bring their reusable food and drink containers to local businesses – and you could be a part of it! Your business could be featured across the borough on bus stops, billboards and social media. Sign up to be a part of this campaign.

Protect your business and employees – be flood risk aware
Enfield Council is working with the Environment Agency to improve community flood resilience in the Edmonton area. The Edmonton Green and Lower Edmonton wards are among the most flood-prone areas in the borough. If you live or work within the Edmonton area, you can attend a community event on 29 June in Edmonton Green Library to meet our team and other experts who will offer you guidance on how to deal with flooding. This is part of our Local Flood Risk Management Strategy to reduce the effect of flooding in Enfield. Email us to secure your space.
Local business owners’ views sought for consultations
If you run a business in the borough, we’d like to hear your views on two new draft consultations on licensing and gaming. The first is on the Council’s Licensing Policy Statement and the second is the Statement of Principles (Gambling Policy). Every five years the Council is required to review, consult on and re-publish its Licensing Policy Statement. You can email us your comments. The closing date for both consultations is Friday 12 July at 11:59PM. Following the feedback we receive, we intend to publish the final document in January 2025.
