Join The Enfield 500
Have your voice heard by joining The Enfield 500 residents’ advisory and consultation group for council tenants and leaseholders. It ensures that residents’ views and priorities shape the planning, design and delivery of services. Members receive emails asking if they want to get involved in a particular issue. This could be giving feedback on a leaflet, commenting on a policy or completing a survey. Membership is flexible and online only, so you can choose when and what to get involved in. View details on how you can join. Read the Enfield 500 News Bulletins to find out more about some of the recent work we’ve carried out based on residents’ feedback.
Reporting noise nuisances
The Council is committed to combatting antisocial behaviour (ASB). We consider ASB to include things like verbal abuse, harassment and threatening behaviour, hate related incidents and playing music loudly. We can only investigate noise that happens often and is unreasonable. Our officers decide whether noise is unreasonable based on what the average reasonable person finds acceptable. Read more on noise we can and cannot investigate. You can report noise nuisances via our noise app or online reporting form. After receiving your report, we aim to assess it within 24 hours and will contact you within five working days.
Help improve building safety
We would like to hear your views on how we engage with you on building safety matters. Residents living in high-rise blocks have been invited to take part in a questionnaire or attend a surgery information session where you can speak with a Building Safety officer about your views. Your feedback is crucial in shaping our communication and ensuring everyone’s safety. To take part in the questionnaire, you can visit the consultation webpage, the consultation closes on 2 March 2025. The times and dates of all surgeries can be viewed in our timetable.
Updating our records
As part of our ongoing efforts to support vulnerable residents, we kindly ask that you complete this important form to help us better understand your needs and ensure that you receive the appropriate assistance and resources. You will be able to log any vulnerabilities or disabilities you or any members of your household have. If you require assistance completing the form, you can speak with your estate caretaking operative, first response housing officer or community partnership manager who will be able to help.
Fire safety tips
There are things you can do to prevent fires and keep your home, neighbours’ homes and your community safe. This includes making sure you follow our guidance for testing your smoke alarm. If you think the alarm is broken or it starts to ‘beep’ (this means the backup battery needs replacing), you should request a repair. Always keeping communal areas clear of all personal items and rubbish is important to ensure residents can get out quickly and safely if there is a fire or other emergency. Cooking is one of the major causes of fires in the home, visit London Fire Brigade for cooking safety tips.
Attend an estate walkabout
Estate walkabouts give you a chance to meet the housing officers and caretaking managers who are responsible for your estate. If you want to raise issues in your block or estates, meet other residents, your Housing Management team, and your local councillors, please do attend one of the walkabouts taking place on your estate. Each walkabout will last 90 minutes. You do not need to book to attend, simply meet at the allocated meeting point and time. View the walkabout schedule. Any questions about the walkabouts please either call 020 8375 8008 or email HCREST@enfeld.gov.uk
Home contents insurance
Contents insurance provides cover for home contents and personal belongings in the event of a fire, flood, theft and many more household risks. No matter how careful you are, there’s always a risk that your belongings could be broken, damaged or stolen. As part of your tenancy agreement the Council is not responsible for damage/loss of personal belongings. The Crystal Insurance Scheme offers you insurance for the contents of your home including cover for items such as furniture, carpets or electrical items. See their website to request a call back and to use their contents calculator to work out the value of your home contents.
